Reflecting on dad's advice

My dad is 66 years old and has overcome life's biggest challenges. Now he is helping me overcome my own set of challenges. The preferred method of assistance is through one liner advice. You know something is wrong when my dad gives these truth-bombs. 1. Ang Masama ay Iwaksi (Evil must be rejected). I believe this is mentioned when I'm doing things that are bad for me. For example, too much binging on food, or doing nothing, or getting angry. This is a wakeup call for me to strive on being good, and by doing good acts. There are so much evil and bad things in this world, and I wish not to be an addition to this. 2. Habang may hininga, may Pag-asa (When you're still breathing, there is still hope). As a 41-year-old, who is behind on life, with no family, nor stable source of income, and have health issues, this one hit me hardest. It's easy to lose hope when life is not going your way. Lessons from a phone repair

Today I went to an android phone repair shop to bring my old S20FE back to life again.  And behold, the repairman did not disappoint. Board level repair was made and battery replaced, now I got a more midrange phone for my daily needs. Which brings to today reflection points. 1. When you take care of things, they last. This phone repair job costs me a little extra than what I expected, but...

When in doubt, clean your room

There's a reason why cleanliness and orderliness are next to Godliness You can perform better when your environment is primed and ready for what you are about to do. Cleaning our own room seems like an ordeal at first, especially if not done regularly, but the end result is worth it. It's like a life hack, when you fix something as trivial as your room, you unlock the ability to fix small problems, in and out of your mind. Before writing this blog, I cleaned my room. I know it's been almost a week, but procrastination has gotten the better part of me. Now, no excuses, I just focused on one part of the room, sweeping the floors, rearranging the furniture, replacing bedcovers, making sure everything is its own place. It's a small victory but compounded can change the direction of your life. You can think better, you are proud the work you have done, and knowing that even though things will get messy, you have the ability to fix it again. Even in bad days, if you can do no...
